Chickens, bees, and whatever we're working on next.

Preston's Farm started with our backyard chickens and kept growing from there. Now we've got a colorful flock, bees, fresh eggs, and plenty more planned.

The Flock

Around the coop.

We've got a mix of breeds chosen for looks, personality, and different egg colors. The flock is still growing, so there will probably always be somebody new around here.

Fresh Egg FAQ

A few quick answers about our eggs, pickup, and what can be different when you're buying directly from a backyard flock.

♻

Bring your cartons back.

Have a clean Preston's Farm carton from a previous pickup? Bring it back with you. We'll reuse or recycle eligible packaging whenever possible instead of throwing away a good carton.

Eggs are laid with a natural outer coating often called the bloom or cuticle. It helps protect the porous shell. Washing removes that natural coating.
Keep your Preston's Farm eggs refrigerated. We keep the storage guidance simple so customers know exactly how to handle their eggs after pickup.
No. Shell colors depend on which hens are laying and what is available that week. Mixed cartons may include different shades as the flock matures.
Pickup is Saturday and Sunday in one-hour windows from 8 AM–5 PM. Choose your day and time when you send an order request. If you need a later time, add it to the notes and we'll let you know if we can make it work.
Our planned hatching eggs come from Light Brahma roosters with a mixed hen flock including Light Brahma, Sapphire Gem, Sapphire Splash, Sapphire Olive Egger, Olive Egger, and Russian Orloff. These are mixed-flock hatches, so chick color, feathering, size, and other traits can vary. Part of the fun is seeing what you hatch.
Yes — clean Preston's Farm cartons can be brought back during a future farm pickup. We'll reuse or recycle eligible packaging when possible.

Our setup in Pelzer.

This all started with backyard chickens and got a little out of hand. Now we're building out the flock, selling eggs, keeping bees, and seeing where it goes.
